A fresh design for side-loading and load security
The new glideSide III concept has evolved from previous Fairfax vehicles in the 1970’s and 80’s
- The door lifting mechanism has been totally redesigned to be accommodated within the roof structure.
- The door lifting mechanism is a totally new electro-hydraulic system.
- Door locking mechanism automatically engages whenever the door is raised into its travelling position.
- Large diameter steel machined rollers with twin sealed bearings create a smooth and consistent door operation when sliding the doors.
- The door operation is activated by a single push-button action.
It only takes 30 seconds to open a door, and closing is just as rapid.
The number of doors can be varied to suit the application and can be applied to one or both sides of the unit, whether it is two, three, or more.
As the doors are top-mounted with a simple “boot-seal” on the bottom edge the doors can be shaped to suit stepped-deck and/or wheel-arches without interference of access or temperature control.
Any accidental fork-lift contact with the coaming rail will not affect the operation or integrity of the glideSide III unit.
This allows the glideSide III concept to be applied to B-trains, Truck/trailers, stepped decks. or normal flat-deck semis with equal simplicity
The overall result of the Fairfax glideSide III is one of simplicity and efficiency which should be attractive to operators that require consistent temperature-controlled side loading vehicles combined with speed and ease of operation.
